BELOW IS THE E-MAIL SENT TO OUR DEAN, PROF WALKER ABOUT HIS MISSING BOW TIE:

Dear Professor Walker,
My name is Harold and as you can see from my photos, I am a regular gnome of
the garden variety. I am accompanying the trainee interns for one full year
on some of their respective electives, and I have decided to take with me a
keepsake from Dunedin Hospital. The TIs have decided that you would be the
prefect target from whom to acquire such a keepsake...
As you may or may not have noticed, you are missing a bow tie. Do not be
alarmed! No laws have been broken, and we have paid extra careful attention
so as not to choose any of your favourites. Our methods shall be revealed
in due course. The bow tie will accompany me around the world, and memoirs
of our journey will be collected and presented to you at the end of the
year.
This is very important - DO NOT bother questioning any of the students
- most know nothing of this, and those who do have been sworn to secrecy on
pain of death.
Please find attached some photos of me and your bow tie as we depart from
Dunedin. Who knows where I might end up next - I've heard the Himalayas are
nice this time of year....
We hope that you are not too put out by our antics, and we also sincerely
hope that no failure of any MBChBs will result.
Kindest regards,
~Harold E. Gnome and the DSM class of 2007
P.S. Don't worry Prof - we'll take real good care of it!
