I bumped into one of my friend's friend's but not really a friend's 'make-over' photos and acquired the shock of my life. Totally missed the boat! How will the ang mo style make up look good on a truly Asian face? GEEZ. .

I suffered from PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder) as one of the after maths of having 'make over' photo shoots from XXXXX bridal shop in Kuching about 3-4 years ago. One word: S-H-O-C-K-I-N-G.

    Ha!

My sister and I ignorantly paid a few hundred bucks just to get the experience.

To start with, the photographer (from West Malaysia) is absurdly cocky and arrogant. He started saying all the bad things about your look, your features and was like: my photos will definitely make you look better in a I-am-God-sent tone. YEAH RIGHT.

The make up artist is ....shockingly bad. She was like PAINTING on my face, literally painting. Foundation that is one tone darker than my skin, very harsh eye brows (CRAYON SIN-ZHANG type), light blue eye shadows that made my eyes looked very small and puffy, and bright red lipstick!! OH GOD. Thailand whore.

Mr. Cocky then asked us to pose. Stupid poses. Guess what. Those very typical historical poses like...having a fan in front of you blowing so that your hair looked '长发飘逸'. Luckily he didn't ask me to gaze up as the multiple colourful balloons gracefully 'float' down... YOU GET THE PICTURE.

My sis and I stood there staring at the pictures with our jaws dropped wide. The lady looked shocked. She kept looking back and forth at those pictures and us again, utterly confused. Of course, we were not going to admit that those two ugly psychotic ladies in the photos were us.

We had such a hard time choosing 10 best photos out of 50. Honestly, all we wanted to do was burnt those photos and pretending that this was just a bad dream after all.

Anyway, what's wrong with those make up artists??? They should go and get a degree or something in Taiwan.

Those bloody pictures...Humiliation of my life.

    I don't trust them anymore.

I will get my bridal photos done in TAIWAN man.

Cici Loo made it to the finals! YEAH!!!!!

It's the end of the beginning.

Let's us wish her GOOD LUCK in the world of Medicine, where the nerds eat the bimbos. And not surprisingly, she will be in the bottom of the food chain, preyed by those who claimed to be ferocious and embarrassingly smart. She will be outsmarted in no time. Rather than updating herself with the latest BMJ/American Medical Society Journals, she is prone to be awed by the big big shopping malls and busy colourful night life. Instead of practicing her self-proclaimed unbearably perfect communication skills, she is more likely to twitch and wince at every single word flavoured in Singlish. Please, be more patient to her. It takes time to convert her half Malaysian-1/3 Kiwi and 2/3 American (but may turns into Hindi in nerve-wrecking moments) English slang into the local one.

May GOD be with her. AMEN.

    Let's have a bimbo talk.

2007 comes to an end pretty soon, I am happy to share my favourite makeups....*generous*

    FOUNDATIONS

I started off 2007 with Shu Uemura foundation. I was in SOGOU in Taiwan and this Ning-baizura alike salesgirl was so stuck up!!! She sort of brushing me away pretending that I was invisible. Okay, I may looked a bit unkept and stingy compared to those stylish -act cute-wannabe chabohs in TW, but she needed not to be THAT oblivious to me. Somehow I managed to wave and wave till she is too embarrassed to ignore me. Wah, her attitude changed immediately to your super-helpful-I-lick-your-boots assistant once I asked if I can pay with my card. OCIPALA.

Anyway, I ditched it a month later because I looked like I was dried up by a vampire. Oh yeah, that's why I was nicknamed JU ONN.

I switched to Shiseido MAKE UP DUAL BALANCING FOUNDATION early this year. I remembered Hie Ming kindly walked me to several stores in Sg before they closed just to get that particular foundation, the one with the warm tinge to add some colour to my pale complexion. Thanks honey. Anyway, I sort of loss interest in it soon because it is thick and smells like pastel.
I gave it away in Trade me.
Then I went to LANCOME Macqi something range, yes, that black tube. It's good for oily skin especially when I was in such a hot steamy place in Kuching. Again, I left it when I returned to NZ as it dried up my skin.

I tried Chanel. Aiti. I acquired baby rashes a week later. Most of the foundations content has ALCOHOL in it which I despise the most.

CLARINS. VERY YELLOWY. We Asians are yellow enough, thank you.
FINALLY, MAC HYPER REAL FOUNDATION. WOOHOO. NB: If you hate any glitters on your face, this is not for you. It makes my skin glow. I think I will look like a light bulb in the sun, but who cares. I like to GLOW until someone tells me off. HAH. Classic.

I always like MAC. You will be spoilt with choices with MAC. Not like those limited dull range of choices you can have with other brands.

Ok, I am tired. I don't understand. Some girls are very PRO. They can write pages of reviews but I get lazy very soon.

    BYE!

When you want to talk business with me, try this hour:

    12-2 pm

    7-11 pm

    The rest of the time?

I am soundly asleep. Yes LITERALLY shopping in my LALA land.

Most of my mates start working as doctors already.

Me, this poor lonely soul, still deep asleep in my self-declared 120-days-holiday.

    I start harassing everyone.

Jiro is regressing into a child after the medical exams, trying to relive his long lost childhood. He is into his TAMIYA car models. He bought boxes of them from Taiwan or something. Look, this is what Medicine can do to you. Don't do it.

Ma and Abi are somewhere in KL enjoying.

    Pa is busy working.

Jie has that little monster to attend to.

Ko is online but mysteriously away.

Ninja is bored like hell too.

I am regretting it, alright? I need to work, I need to do SOMETHING. I can't live by drinking BB tea everyday man.

I don't dare to buy anything anymore. Cleaning up my wardrobe is the biggest challenge of the year. Not surprisingly, I can drown and suffocate to death in my own clothes. K-A-R-M-A.

Jiro has been trying to talk me into traveling to HK and Vietnam. I am so lazy to move a bone. That's the problem.

How will this bag of lazybones coping in Singapore? BAD prognosis. B-A-D.

Alvin told me his encounter as a working doctor in Singapore. HECTIC, COMPETITIVE, STRESSFUL, SINGLISH... For once, I feel like I am throwing myself into a deep shit hole without much pondering. HAH! CLASSIC.

    Ok, STOP COMPLAINING.

    I hate ORANGE LIPSTICK.

    I hate UGG BOOTS.

    I hate MAGIE-MEE hair.

*whisper* Look, FLIGHT OF IDEAS. One of the prodromes of relapsing into BIPOLAR mood.

    BEWARE.

PROUDLY PRESENT...CLASS OF 2007 MBchB Medicine and Surgery ..well...a few of us.

Asima and I. We called her 'emphysema'.

...Brecon managed to come up with a 'different' pose.

'Flat mates' in Alexandra 2006. Thanks for taking care of me.

Cynthu. My favourite mate. Her biggest wish is to bake a big Hello Kitty cake and mine is to be an air stewardness. HAHAHAHA. Wake up. Back to reality!

    Fa. He likes girls...obviously.
    One of the twins...R.
Another one, N. Spot the difference.

Ivor. Voted the most fuck-able buddy. HA! True.
Tony. Sarcastic but quite pleasant, as usual.

    B and ....Joker R.
Osa! She almost choked in her food when I whispered to her my dream.

Sorry for my identical poses. I am a boring person, okay?

Drank 6 glasses of wine. The guys beside me were getting worried as I am slightly off...as in 'disinhibited'. Oh well, one of the tell-tale signs are..I get really sleepy. How dull can I get? *wink*

I got an A and invitation to the Distinction Exam which I decline for the fear of drowning in my own adrenaline rushing moments. I need a break.

    Who to thank?

    Heartfelt thanks to :

    1. You, who stupidly fast and prayed for me while I am just joking about the fasting bit.

    2. DY, who gave me his A+ nougats which really work!

    3. Leng lui and bibi who called last night for the 'most important exam in my life' so he claimed.

    4. J for her new edition Time Out chocolate.

    5. Mr G, my patient who gave me one of his Transcendental Medicine hyms in Mandarin '9940032' and insisted that I will pass if I chant them for night. *sweat*

    6. L L, who emailed me a pre-conceived congratulation and refused to have anything to do with me after.

    7. Dr X Walker, that hot hunk who give me tips of passing the exam in exchange for my company for his dinner.

And of course, HIM, who makes all things possible.

'He asked me to marry him

I said: Can't you be more practical?

How many times do you think a woman can be married to?'
